The tower at the heart of Cranbrook is reminiscent of the campus' first incarnation as a farm; the tower is built where the silo once was. Within it, a spiral staircase leads to a wood-paneled lobby outside the Assembly Hall. Once used for morning chapel services, the Assembly Hall is now a setting for guest lectures, presentations, movie nights, and other activities. Its lobby features a large brick fireplace, ornaments representing exploration and discovery, a large stained glass window depicting Christopher Columbus and the Santa Maria.
