Visitors during school hours should first check in with the Deans office. From the 550 Lone Pine Road lot, follow the sidewalk bordering the Thompson Oval (football field) to the main staircase leading to Hoey Hall. Proceed up the stairs. Enter the building on the second level via the first door on the right. Turn left. The Deans office will be the second door on the right.

Keppel Gymnasium, completed in 1930, is named for Charles J. Keppel, the first Dean of Students at Cranbrook School. The gym is encircled with a suspended track that provides a great view of the courts below as well as an indoor space for running. Basketball hoops and volleyball nets fit side-by-side in the wide space, which can be divided to accommodate several different games at once. The building's exterior, with brick walls, copper roof, and telescoping chimney stack, bring to mind elements of the Kingswood campus.
