    1. Hubbard - C4

Also known as CIV (short for Cottage IV), this dorm was named after E. A. Hubbard, one of the first presidents of the school. Hubbard was the home of the head of school until Ford Cottage was built. Modeled after orphanages D.L. Moody saw in England, it was the first cottage built on Cottage Row. Hubbard boasts the record for longest-tenured dorm parents ever, held by Orville and Ompie Mirtz, who lived there for more than 25 years. In its inaugural year as a girls’ dorm, Hubbard earned a reputation as one of the most spirited dorms on campus.
