Weyerhaeuser Memorial Chapel houses the Center for Religious and Spiritual Life. The mission of the Center for Religious and Spiritual Life is to recognize and affirm the diversity of religious and cultural experience at Macalester College. This includes nurturing students' exploration of religious traditions, helping students express values by engaging in local and global issues with the aim of repairing the world and by participating in the educational life of the college by promoting critical study, spiritual conversation and faith exploration. The Center for Religious and Spiritual Life is staffed by both full and part-time chaplains that stand in a variety of traditions - Buddhist, Catholic, Evangelical Christian, Jewish and Protestant Christian.
In the spirit of the diversity that defines Macalester, we hope that in the Center for Religious and Spiritual Life, all students, regardless of religion, creed, or beliefs, can find a place of peace, rest, and shelter from the stresses of the outside world. A prayer room is located in the lower level.
