The wooded lawn in front of Old Main—loosely referred to as “The Lawn” by students—is a popular place for frisbee, music, soaking up sun, naps, impromptu alfresco classes, outdoor movies, and snow sculptures.This is also the site of Commencement, when a bagpipe band leads an inspiring procession of undergraduates—holding the country flags of all graduating seniors—trustees, faculty, and graduating students.
