Sculpture professor, Tony Caponi taught at Macalester from 1949-1991. He installed this 5-ton piece in 1980, taking seven men and a crane to settle it into place. The forms around the center opening suggest seeds that eventually grow and make up the verdant Minnesota landscape that are fed by its summer storms. [To be re-installed, Spring 2015.]
