Wishing Well, funded by the Classes of 1996 and 2000, awaits re-installation after the Art Building remodel. The well makes reference to tools of trade (a Japanese rake, for example,) as well as the cardinal points, and can be seen as a world map, as well as a planning device for students as they anticipate moving beyond Macalester. There are also several good luck symbols (for example, a four leaf clover) on the piece, and is intended for wish making.
