    1. Advanced Prototyping Lab

The MARC's Advanced Prototyping Laboratory serves as an advanced maker space and laboratory for innovation and new product design. Its capabilities allow for state-of-the-art processes to create using materials such as metal, plastic, wood, and others. The equipment will support building prototypes involving light CNC machining, laser cutting and engraving, printed circuit board manufacturing, electronics, single board computers, precision welding (TIG and MIG), and many other capabilities. The lab offers workstations with CAD/CAM software and a FANUC CNC simulator. Additionally there are tools to perform metrology and materials characterization as well as fabrication and assembly. The MARC envisions this laboratory as a place with advanced capabilities to compliment other campus resources such as maker spaces.
