    1. Clock Tower

Welcome to the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas – the largest Catholic university in the state. UIW is rooted in the Catholic tradition and founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. UIW offers a world-class education with locations not just throughout San Antonio, South and Central Texas, but also with two campuses in Mexico and a European Study Center in *Heidelberg*, Germany, and in *Strasbourg*, France. We begin our tour at the clock tower. Students and visitors can hear the clock chime every half hour, and hear it play the Hymn of the Incarnate Word daily at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
    2. Joyce Design and Technology Center

The Joyce Design and Technology Center is home to the Interior Design, Fashion and Computer Information Systems programs. The facility is among the most technologically advanced buildings on campus featuring state-of-the-art equipment for students and faculty.

The building also houses the Watson Auditorium, a 135-seat lecture hall used for larger classes

    3. Administration Building

The Administration Building currently houses the Office of Admissions, Office of the Registrar, the Business Office, Financial Assistance, Mission and Ministry, and the Ettling Center for Civic Leadership and Sustainability.

The Administration Building also houses classrooms and administrative offices, as well as a dining area with Hortencia's Café and Chick-Fil-A.

The Fine Arts Complex, also known as the Kelso Art Center, includes art studios, ceramics, workspaces and music practice rooms and recital halls, including Palestrina Hall. Also found here is the Semmes Gallery, which showcases both the art of students and guest artists on a regular basis.

The adjacent theatre complex includes the Coates Theatre, a 270-seat performance space, and the Cheever Downstage II Theatre, a black box space which hosts smaller productions. The Department of Theatre Arts produces four plays a year, all of which are free to UIW students.

    5. Bonilla Science Hall

Bonilla Science Hall is the first of two science buildings on campus and home to the mathematics, nutrition, engineering and broadcast meteorology programs. On the third floor, you will find a state-of-the-art weather studio and forecasting center where broadcast meteorology students hold production of forecasts.

The Bonilla Science Hall also houses lab classrooms for environmental science, physics and math.

    6. AT&T Science Center

The AT&T Science Center is one of UIW’s two science facilities. It houses chemistry, biology and research labs. UIW is committed to preparing students for success with hands-on experiences. In the AT&T Science Center students utilize top-of-the-line equipment to participate in labs and research projects.  Through the Welch Summer Research Program, students are selected to participate in a research project with faculty and gain valuable skills. Our Cardinal Chemistry Scholars program includes scholarship funds as well as peer mentoring and career development.

The Wellness Center at UIW is a full-service recreational facility helping students to stay active and healthy. The Cardinal community has access to state-of-the-art workout machines, racquetball and basketball courts, a weight room, and wellness classes, which are part of the core curriculum for students.

You will often see community partners and student organizations hosting tables and events in the SEC concourse.

With more than ninety student organizations and twelve Greek organizations, UIW's Office of Campus Engagement offers students a wide variety of opportunities for student involvement.

The SEC also houses the President's Office, Academic Advising and the Tutoring center.

    10. Gayle & Tom Benson Stadium

The Gayle & Tom Benson Stadium opened in 2008 when the Benson family joined more than 2,000 Cardinals fans and athletes to declare the facility ready for action. In 2018, the field underwent changes, which included a camouflage look in the end-zones, new turf, and a reorientation of the Cardinal logo.

The new surface spans about 99,000 square feet and the project provides our UIW Division I athletes a new, state-of-the-art playing field. This upgrade was made possible by a donation from Methodist Healthcare System and Metropolitan Methodist Hospital.

    11. Alice P. McDermott Convocation Center

Welcome to the Alice P. McDermott Convocation Center, a 2,000-seat arena, home to Cardinals Basketball and Volleyball. Students, faculty, staff, family and friends are all invited to attend a home game to cheer on our fellow Cardinals!

UIW Athletics includes fourteen sports for men and women, and is in the NCAA Division I, Southland Conference.
