The south campus district geothermal field has 64 bores and supplies heating and cooling to Wiecking Hall, the Tang Teaching Museum, and the Dance Center.
This is one of three district fields at Skidmore College. A district geothermal field supplies heating and cooling energy to multiple buildings rather than single building. This approach limits the number of bores, associated infrastructure, and operational costs to condition our buildings while also increasing the efficiency of the system.
