This geothermal field has 48 bores to support the heating and cooling needs of the Murray-Aikins Dining Hall. Dining facilities don't typically use geothermal energy because of the high air exchange rates (hoods over all grills and stoves exhaust air and heat throughout the day,) so this system is considered an engineering feat!
