    1. Laboratory for Outdoor Research, Agriculture, Conservation, & Sustainability

      The Laboratory for Outdoor Research, Agriculture, Conservation & Sustainability (LORACS) provides outdoor space and facilities to support research, education and community engagement opportunities in the fields of biology, ecology, environmental science, agriculture, conservation and sustainability. 

      LORACS is the home to the OU Student Organic Farm. Ongoing research and educational activities at the LORACS involve studies of climate change, pollinator conservation, urban agriculture and sustainability.

      Located on the corner of Adams and Butler roads in Rochester Hills, Mich., the core area is highlighted in yellow. Adjacent land highlighted in orange is proposed as a location for composting of organic matter from LORACS.

      The LORACS organizational team is currently exploring options for funding operations and activities, via grants, partnerships, gifts, etc. For questions about the LORACS site or activities please contact the LORACS Coordinator Gerard Madlambayan.
