The main entrance - the 'Gate of Opportunity' - with its red brick Georgian gateway and gatehouse, was built in 1964 as part of Hermann Hall construction. Martha Berry called the school entrance the 'Gate of Opportunity' because it opened two ways; for those coming to learn and those going out to share their knowledge with the world.
