The North Campus Village officially opened in the fall of 2013.

The North Campus Village is the newest development in sustainable, campus living and a unique experience that has no equal in the Oregon University System. The Village includes 195,000 sf of new student housing, 24,000 sf of dining opportunities and over 6.8 acres of renovated landscaping, parking and pedestrian paths certified LEED Gold. The North Campus Village is an interactive learning community of environmental stewardship and inspiration.

First year students (those attending SOU within a year of graduating high school) are required to live on campus their first year, and have two housing options to choose from: Greensprings or Shasta Hall.

Shasta Hall is a semi-suite design with both single and double rooms available.

Double rooms have two people sharing a room together and sharing a bathroom with two other people in the room next to them.

Single rooms share a bathroom with the person living in the room next to them.
