Future Student Housing: Towers Redevelopment
Contrary to prior assumptions, the Towers housing complex has remained fully occupied since the opening of Sawtooth Hall. It provides an important tier of first-year student housing, that is both affordable and community-oriented. Considering current student housing needs, the site is underutilized and could accommodate significantly more students. Using creative strategies to redevelop the site in a phased approach, the bed count in this location could more than double. That amount of first-year housing along Capitol Boulevard would leverage amenities nearby in Lusk and Downtown, and possibly create the need for a ‘west campus’ dining service.
