      1. Crites Hall

Built in 1938, this was the first dormitory for men. It is named for Edwin D. Crites, a Chadron attorney and member of the State Normal Board from 1931 to 1953. It features an architectural style popular in the Great Plains and Midwest in the 1930s: international stripped Classicism with Art Deco details. Crites Hall currently houses administrative offices.
