        College of Arts and Sciences

        In the College of Arts and Sciences, you develop the critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills you need to pursue a successful career.

        Here, you don’t just memorize theories—you collaborate, integrate, and represent your point of view thoughtfully. Classes are small, which means you’ll receive personal attention and support from faculty. You get hands-on experience through internships, research with faculty, and study abroad opportunities. Our interdisciplinary offerings enable you to engage with the world from multiple perspectives.

        When you graduate, you will be able to address problems  and offer viable solutions, because you will have spent the last four years doing just that.

      2. Harry Jack Gray Center (HJG)

        Harry Jack Gray Center

        The Harry Jack Gray Center is located at the center of campus by the flagpoles, and is home to Harrison Libraries, where you can take a break from studying and enjoy a hot drink at the always popular Starbucks at Goodwin Café. The Center also houses the University of Hartford Conference Center, Wilde Auditorium, the Joseloff Gallery, the Campus Store, studios for art, radio, and television, the School of Communication, space for the College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture's architecture programs, and the 1877 Club, which offers space for special events and monthly community luncheons.

        Kent McCray Television Studio

        UHart’s professional television studio is home to the student-run network STN 2 and includes the latest technology in production and set design for news, talk show, and public affairs broadcasts. It is located on the lower level of the Harry Jack Gray Center.

        Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies

        The Center includes state-of-the-art classrooms, meeting rooms, and faculty offices for UHart’s Judaic Studies program, as well as a Holocaust research and study library that houses a collection of more than 5,000 books.

        Abrahms Hall

        Abrahms Hall is named in memory of John Abrahms, former regent of the University, Abrahms Hall is home to the cinema department and the cinema and media studies editing suite.

        Media Lab and Production Suite

        The Media Lab in Abrahms Hall includes new editing stations and software for students who are studying communication, cinema, digital media, and journalism.

      7. Integrated Science, Engineering, and Technology (ISET) Complex

        ISET

        The Integrated Science, Engineering, and Technology (ISET) complex interconnects the Charles A. Dana Hall, United Technologies Hall, and the Biology-Chemistry Building. The complex is designed to create a synergism among engineering, engineering technology, science, mathematics, computer programs, and health profession disciplines.

        Chemistry Instrumentation Lab

        The chemistry instrumentation lab, located in the Integrated Science, Engineering, and Technology (ISET) complex, features the latest chemistry research equipment including nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, high-performance liquid chromatography, and thermal cycling.

        In the Integrated Science, Engineering, and Technology (ISET) complex, biology students perform cutting-edge research with faculty members on cancer, aging, neurodegenerative diseases, circadian rhythms, invasive species, diseases in sharks, and osteoarthritis.

      10. Charles A. Dana Hall (D)

        Dana Hall

        Charles A. Dana Hall is the centerpiece of our integrated science, engineering, and technology complex (ISET). Designed to encourage collaboration and interdisciplinary learning, the ISET complex has brought students from multiple academic disciplines together while promoting close student and faculty interactions. Dana Hall houses Mali Lecture Halls I and II; engineering and technology laboratories; classrooms; and faculty offices.

      11. Hillyer Hall (H)

        Hillyer Hall

        Hillyer Hall is one of the academic buildings on campus that students have many classes in. It houses the deans offices of the College of Arts and Sciences; the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions; and Hillyer College. Building highlights include Auerbach Auditorium and the Shaw Center, featuring the multipurpose Regents Commons.

      12. Center for Social Research

        Center for Social Research

        Located within the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice, the Center offers sociology, criminal justice, and psychology students the opportunity to work alongside faculty and the CSR team to conduct interdisciplinary research.
