      1. Carl C. Icahn Center for Science

Tucked against the pond and ringed by trees, the Carl C. Icahn Center for Science presents opportunities for learning inside and out. Stepping through the doors, you’ll find a designated floor for each discipline: physics, biology, and chemistry. In the fall, students from our signature Science Research Program give presentations of their academic research at a university laboratory and display their research boards along the wall of the buildings. No matter where your interests lie, you’ll be surrounded by the ideas and enthusiasm of new friends who share your excitement. With 22 classrooms and laboratories, a large and comfortable reference/study area, and the 150-seat Getz Auditorium for classes and presentations, there’s plenty of room to explore.

In the spring, you’ll move outside for a truly immersive learning experience. Get ready for the Physics Phlotilla in May, where students design and build a boat to race across the pond—using only two double-mattress cartons and two rolls of masking tape! Recent classes have also participated in a catch-and-release program for birds on campus, learning more about our local ecosystems and wildlife through hands-on learning. No matter the season, we’re excited to see you dive in and explore the science of the world around you.
