Mill 19 is a discovery workspace at Carnegie Mellon University where innovators partner with industry leaders to advance digital innovation, advanced manufacturing technology, and human intelligence. Built on the historic 178-acre Hazelwood Green site—once home to the region’s most productive steel mills—Mill 19 now serves as the headquarters for the Manufacturing Futures Institute (MFI) and supports leading manufacturing research across the U.S. The MFI, the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute, and the Catalyst Connection workforce training center are based in Building A of the 265,000-square-foot complex, with access to 60,000 square feet of additive manufacturing labs, modern workshop areas, low-bay and high-bay project space, and flexible collaboration and meeting facilities.
