      1. University Student Union - LEED Gold

         CSUSM has invested in building green, sustainable buildings. The USU is a LEED (Leadership

         in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Building. 

         Green features of the building include:

         • A green roof on the Rooftop Patio area. The green roof consists of native vegetation and helps keep the building cool.
         • 100kw Photovolatic Solar system provides alternative energy for the building.
         • Low flow faucets and dual flush toilets in the bathrooms
