Since the Fine Arts Center first opened at the La Plata Campus 30 years ago, the Arts at CSM have grown dramatically, serving the college and the public well. While Southern Maryland has other performing groups and artists located throughout the region, at its inception, the Fine Arts Center was the only center of its kind in Southern Maryland. Building an audience and determining how best to serve the college and the community, with events that were both cultural and academic in nature, but yet entertaining and enlightening was challenging and rewarding.
