From 1973 to 2011, Larry Chappelear was an advocate for the Studio Arts program and a beloved mentor to thousands of students.
Today, Chappelear’s work is on display in the Fine Arts Center, permanently exhibited in the building’s lobby, which is now titled the Larry Chappelear Memorial Gallery. Paintings that depict the artist’s unique view of Southern Maryland’s beautiful landscape hang on the walls, serving as inspiration to the students and community members who visit the building for classes, performances, and programs.
