Rain Gardens
Rain gardens are one of many ways IUPUI works to deal woth stormwater runoff - native shrubs, perennials, and flowers are planted in a small depression. It is designed to temporarily hold and soak in stormwater runoff that flows from roofs, driveways, patios or lawns.
Design features such as rain gardens aid in IUPUI achieving LEED Gold status for all new buildings. They can be found at SELB, North Campus Service Building, and the Glick Eye Institute.
