Sophia B. Clarke
2T - Clarke Theater
Sophia Clarke started her association with Mt. San Antonio College when the College first opened its doors in 1947. She, along with her popcorn wagon, became a virtual fixture at every game and event held on campus. She continued to operate the concession stand for over 30 years and remains a spirited fan of the College through her entire life.
The Performing Arts Center, completed in 1996, is the home of Mt. SAC's award-winning choral ensembles, music ensembles, and dance and theater programs. The complex includes the 440-seat Clarke Theater, the 250-seat Feddersen Recital Hall, Theater's black box, and the dance studio. During a Music Building expansion in 2007, a new band room, new practice rooms of various sizes, and additional faculty offices were added.
