We provide close, personalized attention to help you map out your course of study, navigate the options available to you, and overcome the challenges you face. Whether selecting a program of study, getting ready to transfer to another institution, or preparing for your professional career, it's easy and convenient to meet with an academic advisor.

Advisors and Transfer Services also guide students on preparing to transfer to a four-year college or university and accompany them through all the steps of the transfer process: what to expect before, during and after transferring; pre-transfer programs; connecting with representatives of possible transfer schools; and navigating the more than 300 transfer and articulation agreements that provide CSM students with guaranteed admission to more than 70 four-year institutions nationwide!

Career Services connects students with valuable tools and resources to help them pursue an exciting and fulfilling career. Students can explore options, prepare for interviews, have resumes and cover letters reviewed by experts, and more! CSM's Career Closet supports students in dressing for success by giving them clothes to wear for various formal and professional occasions. Presentation is a vital part of the professional world, and we want to propel our Hawks in the right direction with the Career Closet.

    5. Library

The Library provides students with access to online research databases and physical books for check-out or on-site use and can have resources from CSM's other campuses transferred here for students' use.

The Library is also home to an open computer lab that students can use for their classwork.

    6. Public Safety Office

Each campus has emergency call boxes illuminated with a blue light located in our parking lots, as well as emergency phones located in every building of every campus. Both place the caller in contact with a Public Safety officer who can contact 911 in the event of an emergency.

We also offer CSM.TXT, which is CSM's alert service. This service sends you instant alerts and time-sensitive messages, including up-to-date information on emergencies and campus closings. Messages can be sent to your cell phone via text.

The CSM Safe app puts emergency and public safety information at your fingertips. Call 911, contact public safety, locate the nearest emergency call box, report an incident, and much more—straight from the app!

    7. Financial Assistance Office

CSM students have access to an abundance of scholarships, grants, and other financial aid opportunities to keep their education affordable, and the college's Financial Aid Office accompanies students in navigating the sometimes complex world of financial aid.

The CSM Foundation awards more than $600,000 in scholarships each year.

CSM's Scholarship Finder lets students apply for more than 200 CSM scholarships with one application.

CSM students can save tens of thousands of dollars on a bachelor's degree program by starting at CSM. Students who transfer to Maryland public four-year schools save an average of $29,000 on their bachelor's degree by completing their first two years at CSM and transferring with an associate degree.

The college's Financial Aid office also hosts workshops to help students fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, which gives students access to both federal and state financial aid opportunities like the Maryland Community College Promise and Maryland Near-Completers scholarship programs.

    8. Disability Support Services

Disability Support Services is here to ensure equitable access to education for all our students. DSS assistance isn't limited to physical or "obvious" disabilities, either; students living with "invisible disabilities" like dyslexia or ADHD can also get the support they need.

Empowering Students to Achieve, or ESTA, is a support group for students with disabilities that is designed to assist them with the transition to college. Resources and strategies are provided to assist students with the transition process, as well as the goal to develop skills to meet the academic, personal, and social needs of college.

    9. Veterans Affairs

CSM is proud to serve those who've served. Our Veterans Affairs team can guide veteran and military-connected students through the college experience, from readjustment to civilian life to getting the most out of the benefits they've earned.
    10. Personal Counseling

College can be an enriching experience, but it can also bring challenges and stress. CSM Counseling Services are confidential, free of charge, and available at all campuses to help you overcome difficulties and ensure mental and emotional health.

Whatever's affecting you, CSM Counseling Services are available to accompany and support you in a wide range of emotional and mental health areas. If you're not ready to talk about it yet, you can also use "R u ok, Hawks?" – an anonymous tool to connect you with resources to support your mental health.

    15. Farming 4 Hunger Market Garden

The market garden here at the Prince Frederick Campus is the result of a partnership between CSM and the nonprofit group Farming 4 Hunger. Together, this collaboration provides food for the region's hungry, as well as providing students with teachable moments in self-sufficiency, service leadership, volunteerism, and finding purpose. The food grown here is distributed to numerous community organizations working to combat food insecurity in Southern Maryland, including CSM's own Hawk Pantries on the Prince Frederick, Leonardtown, and La Plata Campuses.
    16. Building B

The newest building at the Prince Frederick Campus has nearly 30,000 square feet of space and contains seven computer labs/classrooms and nearly 3,000 square feet of meeting space. The building is the first LEED certified building at CSM and features four green roofs, computer controlled HVAC and lighting, and numerous water saving features. The building also houses the campus’s world class Bösendorfer piano, which is used in the Ward Virts Concert Series.

    17. Bosendorfer Grand Piano

This piano is a world-class, handcrafted Bosendorfer Grand Piano and was gifted to CSM's Prince Frederick Campus by the Ward Virts Piano Project. Ward Virts was a talented Southern Maryland pianist who died suddenly in 1993. A group of Ward's friends and classmates conceived the Ward Virts Piano Project to bring the love of life, beauty, and music that Ward embodied to a new generation of Southern Maryland students, performers, and appreciative audiences, and together with the College of Southern Maryland created the Ward Virts Concert Series in his memory.
    18. Hawk Pantry

The Hawk Pantry is a weekly opportunity for students experiencing food insecurity to receive safely stored canned and packaged food items at no cost, at on-campus locations at the La Plata, Leonardtown, and Prince Frederick campuses. Any current CSM student or employee in need can come to any of our Hawk Pantry locations and receive up to 30 pounds of food per week, with complete confidentiality.

The Hawk Pantry was established in partnership with the Maryland Food Bank. Fresh eggs and seasonal fresh produce from the Farming 4 Hunger (F4H) Campus Garden are also be available at the Prince Frederick Hawk Pantry location.
