    1. Iowa Memorial Union

      Since 1923, the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) has been at the center of campus life at the University of Iowa.

      Thousands of students, faculty, and staff visit the IMU every day. At the IMU students meet up, study, join student organizations, attend events, concerts, and lectures, and more. Hundreds of student activities and organizations are facilitated by the IMU's Center for Student Involvement & Leadership. 

      The ground floor of the IMU is also home to our Iowa Hawk Shop, the official University of Iowa bookstore. The ground floor also features a food court, coffee shop, and convenience store.

      Students have 24-hour access to the IMU, taking advantage of the numerous lounges and study spaces. 

    2. College of Public Health

      Our University of Iowa College of Public Health is housed within its 156,000-square-foot building, built in 2011. The building includes classrooms and lecture halls, research centers, and six academic departments. Our College of Public Health offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in all branches of public health. Our College of Public Health is located a short 15-minute walk away from the Pentacrest and is between the University of Iowa Arts Campus and the College of Medicine campus.

    3. Westlawn

      Westlawn is the main Student Health and Wellness location on campus offering a variety of health services and counseling services. Services available for Iowa students include appointments, group workshops, events, and other programming on a variety of topics. Westlawn is located on Newton Road, a short fifteen-minute walk from the Pentacrest. 

    4. College of Nursing

      Our University of Iowa College of Nursing is one of the top-ranked nursing programs in the country.

      Our College of Nursing building features various learning spaces including classrooms, collaboration spaces, learning commons, simulation spaces, and a computer lab all equipped with innovative learning technologies. To facilitate student well-being the building also houses the Felton Student Success Center. These spaces create a dynamic learning facility to aid the education of future nurses.

    5. Carver College of Medicine

      The Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is a short fifteen-minute walk from the Pentacrest.

      Students at the Carver College of Medicine are educated in a wide variety of medical specialties to prepare them for a career as a physician, physical therapist, or physician assistant.

      The College of Medicine campus includes the Bowen Science Building as well as education buildings, administration offices, and research facilities to supply a high-quality education to medical students. Many of the medical education and research buildings within the medical campus are connected via skywalks.

      In addition to a variety of study spaces, the Carver College of Medicine houses learning communities for medical students, counseling services, and other facilities and support to aid in the education of the next generation of health care providers.

    6. Hardin Library for Health Sciences

      Our University of Iowa Hardin Library for Health Sciences is one of eight libraries on campus located within the Medical Campus. The Hardin Library is one of the best places on campus to study and research.

      The Hardin Library has a variety of study spaces including four group spaces, sixteen individual spaces, computers on every floor and two computer classrooms, and a 24-hour study section available for Iowa students and faculty. In addition to study spaces, Hardin Library has books, medical journals, and educated librarians to aid in students’ research.

    7. Dental Science Building and Carver-Hawkeye Arena

      Our University of Iowa College of Dentistry is housed within the Dental Science Building on the west side of campus. The 270,000-square-foot building has education facilities and research spaces. These facilities include outdoor and indoor study spaces for individual and group studying, a café, classrooms and lecture halls, and a simulation clinic. As the only dental school in the state of Iowa, we are a leader in patient care, dental education, and oral science research.

      Carver-Hawkeye Arena is one of the 25 largest university-owned facilities in the nation, containing practice and performance facilities for the Hawkeye Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams, Women’s Volleyball team, Women’s Gymnastics team, and Men’s and Women’s Wrestling teams. The performance space seats up to 15,000 fans.

    8. Wendell Johnson Speech and Hearing Center

      Our University of Iowa Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is housed within the Wendell Johnson Speech and Hearing Center. The department trains students and serves clients with speech, language, and hearing disorders. The Wendell Johnson Speech and Hearing Center is located next to the main entrance of the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and has a bus stop right across the street for easy access from around campus through the Cambus.

    9. Kinnick Stadium

      Historic Kinnick Stadium is the home of the Iowa Hawkeyes football team. The stadium is ranked as one of the top facilities in college football and houses up to 69,250 fans on Saturdays each fall. 

    10. UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital

      The new home for University of Iowa Stead Family Children's opened in 2017 with accommodations for over 77,000 patients each year. The new facility is just across the street from Kinnick Stadium which has led to the “greatest tradition in college football,” the Hawkeye Wave. This heartwarming tradition occurs at the end of the first quarter of each home football game as all Iowa Hawkeye fans turn to wave to pediatric patients and their families in the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

      Stead Family Children’s Hospital facilitates ground-breaking research and high-quality training for the next generation of medical providers and is committed to offering the highest level of care, comfort, and compassion for pediatric patients and their families.

    11. Field House

      The 334,000-square-foot Field House is home to Recreational Services, UI Academics, and UI Athletics. Amenities, which are available to all students, include a cycling and mind/body studios, a weightlifting room, multi-activity rooms, classrooms, locker rooms, saunas, table tennis, an indoor track, and courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, racquetball, and squash.

      Additionally, staff offices and academic departments for Women’s Gymnastics, Sports Camps, Health and Human Physiology, Health & Physical Activity Skills, and Lifetime Leisure Skills are located within the Field House.

    12. College of Pharmacy

      Our newly built 230,000-square-foot University of Iowa College of Pharmacy building, opened in 2019, features twenty-three learning spaces, sixteen laboratory-science research spaces, community rooms, and a Pharmacy Practice Learning Center with a mock hospital pharmacy and a mock community pharmacy.

      Located next to the west side residence halls, a short fifteen-minute walk from the Pentacrest, these spaces create a dynamic learning facility aiding in high-quality pharmacy education, patient care, drug discovery, and product development. 

    13. West Side Residence Halls

      Our West Side Residence Halls consist of Hillcrest Hall, Petersen Hall, Rienow Hall, and Slater Hall. Hillcrest features a dining hall that serves west side residents and students traveling to the west side for classes, athletics, and other activities.

      Most west side residence halls are a 10-minute walk from classes and our campus bus service, Cambus, stops in front of Slater every 10 to 12 minutes during the semester.  

    14. Boyd Law Building

      The Boyd Law Building contains the University of Iowa College of Law. The building consists of two trial courtrooms (with jury room and judge’s chambers), a 300-seat appellate courtroom also used as an auditorium, classrooms, faculty offices, and a 1,100,000-volume law library.

    15. Stanley Museum of Art

      Nestled between the Main Library and Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, the new Stanley Museum of Art is a hub of learning and research for the University of Iowa.

      The three-story, state-of-the-art building 
      includes a range of flexible spaces for research, education, and exhibitions, and is ideally suited to serve as a center for interdisciplinary teaching, discovery, and community building.
    16. Main Library

      The University of Iowa Main Library is one of eight libraries on campus serving Hawkeyes. 
      Open 24-hours, five days a week during the fall and spring semesters, the Main Library is one of the best places on campus to study, research, and write. 

      The Learning Commons is housed on the first floor and is open 24 hours a day, Sunday-Thursday during the academic year. It is a 37,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art study space for students. There are 18 group study rooms designed for collaboration and the "Food for Thought" café to keep your energy up during intense study sessions.
