      The Kathleen Allen Lower School houses our Lower School program, with classrooms for K-4 as well as music, art, science, technology, and Spanish, the Santomero Library, a dining room, a multi-purpose room for P.E. and performances, and at the heart of it all, a colorful playground.       The current building opened in September 2007, replacing the former Kathleen Allen Lower School, which opened on the same location in 1971. 

       

      The new facility received the 2010 Learning by Design Circle of Excellence Award, one of only seven projects to be so recognized by a nationally recognized panel of architects and educational facility specialists.  It was also received an Elementary School Citation in the 2009 American School & University Architectural Portfolio, recognizing the best in educational design, and it received an Honor Award from the American Institute of Architects Westchester Mid-Atlantic Design Awards Committee in 2009.
