With its nearly perfect acoustics, Wallenberg Hall inside the Denkmann building serves as a performance and lecture hall.
Dr. Peter Wallenberg, Sr. — a cousin of the Swedish hero Raoul Wallenberg — served on the college board of trustees in 1990 when the new Augustana library opened, replacing the Denkmann library.
The college renamed Denkmann's former main reading room in honor of the Wallenberg family.
