    1. Hedrick Administration Building

      Catawba College was established in 1851 in Newton, North Carolina. In 1925, Catawba's campus was relocated to Salisbury.

      Hedrick Administration Building, the notable "face" of Catawba's campus, is home to the Admissions Welcome Center and staff, faculty and administrative offices, as well as a number of classrooms.

    2. Corriher-Linn-Black Library

      The Corriher-Linn-Black Library includes an ICE box (Innovate. Collaborate. Engage.) area with fully mobile furniture and the latest in smart classroom technology, a digital maker space, the Writing Center, Math and Science Center, mobile lounge areas, and a children's resources for the Teacher Education program.

    3. Omwake-Dearborn Chapel

      Omwake-Dearborn Chapel, often used for religious services, musical events, and weddings, features two dramatic stained glass windows, a comprehensive three-manual Casavant pipe organ, and seating for around 800 people.

      The 3rd Place coffee house is located in the chapel basement, is student managed and staffed, and offers free coffee, tea, and cookies, among an assortment of other snack items.

       

    4. Shuford Science Building

      Shuford Science Building includes classrooms, laboratories, and faculty offices for the Biology and Chemistry departments. A key feature of the facility is the Montgomery Observatory, which contains a 15-inch Cassegrainian telescope covered by a 14-foot motor-driven dome.

    5. Center for the Environment

      Catawba's Center for the Environment, a sustainable facility, has classrooms and labs overlooking a 189-acre ecological preserve. A few of the building's green features include photovoltaic cells to capture sunlight and produce electricity and a closed-loop, geoexchange system that provides heating and cooling.

      The facility and its furnishings include environmentally conscious materials, such as newspaper insulation, bamboo flooring, recycled timber beams, desktops made of natural components, and table legs made from recycled cardboard.

    6. Robertson College-Community Center

      The RCCC facility, home to the School of Performing Arts, includes Keppel Auditorium; Hedrick Little Theater; Peeler Crystal Lounge, a spacious glass-walled room for seminars, banquets, conferences, and dances; and the Brady Courtyard, an area used for receptions and various types of socials.

      The facility contains a common stage area for the main auditorium and smaller theatre, which allows wide flexibility in staging various events. There is an extensive rigging and fly-storage area backstage along with facilities for scenery preparation and costume design and production.

      Students have access to a well-equipped scene shop, dance studio, theatre lab, and costume shop.

    7. Hurley Hall

      Hurley Hall is an honors residence hall that features apartment-style units and houses 18 students and one Resident Assistant.

    8. Public Safety

      The Office of Public Safety helps ensure a safe environment on campus. Officers routinely patrol the campus, secure buildings and property, enforce campus motor vehicle operations and parking regulations, assist with traffic and crowd control at campus-sponsored events, respond to calls for assistance, and provide campus-wide crime prevention education.

      There are several call boxes located throughout the campus for students to use in case of emergency.

    9. Williams Music Building

      The Williams Music Building is home to the Department of Music. This facility has classrooms, piano studios, a piano laboratory including a large Allen electronic organ, a rehearsal hall and practice rooms.

    10. Salisbury-Rowan Hall

      Salisbury-Rowan Hall houses 126 freshmen students, with two students per room. Built in five sections, each section has a combination of rooms in suite arrangements. Male and female students are separated by different sections of the building.

      The ground floor features a TV lobby, vending machines, and laundry facilities. S-R Hall is an alcohol-free building and home to five Resident Assistants.

    11. Abernethy Village

      Abernethy Village consists of five residence halls, designed to accommodate up to 124 upper class students and one Resident Assistant. Each hall is three-stories tall with handicapped access on the first floor.

      Some of the halls feature suite-style living spaces which share common study areas on the second and third floors, as well as two kitchens to be shared by residents on all three floors. Other halls feature apartment-style living spaces and have a kitchen per apartment.

       

    12. Cannon Student Center

      Cannon Student Center is located in the center of campus, at the hub of activity. Designed to be both the "living and dining room" of campus life, the center contains the all-you-care-to-eat dining hall and McCorkle's Snack Bar and Grill, which offers Starbucks products. It also houses the College bookstore, post office, game room, student government office, the Office of Student Affairs, Career Services, the Proctor Health Center, the Wellness Center, and a number of other student services.

      In front of the student center is Stanback Plaza, a brick courtyard which features a central planter. This location is popular for various campus events such as the annual Duck Draw, cookouts, socials, and more.

       

    13. Ketner Hall

      Ketner Hall houses the School of Business, Teacher Education Department, and the School of Evening and Graduate Studies. The three-story structure features a variety of classrooms and other academic facilities including a library, seminar rooms, computer labs, conference areas, and faculty offices. The building also contains a central atrium topped by a skylight.

      Ketner Hall is also home to Tom Smith Auditorium, a 150-seat teaching auditorium frequently used for meetings and conferences.

       

    14. Woodson Hall

      Woodson Hall is the largest of Catawba's residence halls and houses 187 freshmen students and seven Resident Assistants. The lobby is located on the second floor, while the first, third, and fourth floors feature laundry facilities. Rooms are designed for two students with common bathroom areas on each floor.

    15. Hoke Hall

      Hoke Hall contains a concert hall, instrumental music rehearsal rooms, as well as the Information Technology Department, which includes the campus information and technology center and Help Desk.

      A Yamaha keyboard lab includes a teacher station, audio hardware, lab peripherals and software, and 16 student stations.

    16. Barger-Zartman Hall

      Barger-Zartman Hall is an upperclassmen residence hall that houses 64 students and two Resident Assistants. It has lobbies on the first and second floors. Laundry facilities are located in the basement. The residence hall is arranged in suites of two rooms, with two students each, sharing a bath.

      B-Z Hall is the oldest residence hall on campus.

    17. Stanback Hall

      Stanback Hall houses 131 upperclass students. Most rooms house two students, and two rooms share a bathroom. Six single rooms on the first floor share a bathroom. Vending machines are located on the first and second floor lobbies and laundry facilities are located on the second floor.

    18. Hollifield Hall

      Hollifield Hall is a substance-free residence hall which houses 40 female students and two Resident Assistants. It is arranged in suites of two rooms, with two students in each room, sharing a bathroom. A TV lobby and laundry facilities are located on the first floor.
