This 31'x33' acrylic mural was painted by muralist Paul Botello and students in 1997. Monumental figures depicting the four great races surround an enigmatic being that symbolize the unity of humanity. Around the figures, linked by a chain, float icons denoting each race’s contribution to the whole. The chain, according to the artist, signifies both “the struggle of humanity and an umbilical cord that physically binds each race together.”
