    1. Carnegie Building (CB)

The Carnegie Building (CB) is full of rich history, evident from the architecture and small details like the names of famous writers written above the exterior windows. The Carnegie Building is home to the Welcome Centre, five classrooms, faculty offices and student lounge space. Many senior year classes are offered in this building because of the small classroom sizes.

Interesting facts about the Carnegie Building:

Built in 1904, the Carnegie Building was originally the public library in Brantford, one of 125 libraries built across Canada funded by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. It was Laurier’s first building in Brantford back in 1999. At that time, the campus had only 39 students and two faculty members. Today, we have grown to about 3,000 students and 20+ buildings.

Our building has been used in several TV and film sets, including CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries, a period crime drama, where the front steps have been transformed into a court house for the show.
