The West Campus Health Sciences Building (HSB) is home to Valencia's associate in science degree program in Nursing, including the Valencia/UCF concurrent track that lets students work toward a B.S.N. from the University of Central Florida at the same time as completing their associate degree. The program emphasizes hands-on experience through clinicals at area hospitals and a Nursing Arts Lab, where students learn to do everything from taking temperatures and blood pressure to starting IVs. And, with human patient simulators, they learn to practice care on patients who are sneezing or coughing. Valencia's graduates consistently score above 90 percent on the national licensing exam for registered nurses - higher than state and national averages.
