    1. Co-operative Education & Career Development Centre

The Centre for Co-operative Education & Career Development was completed in 2007, and is located at the corner of King Street and Lodge Street. This building houses the Centre for Co-operative Education and the Career Development Centre.

Laurier Co-op gives students the opportunity to integrate academic studies with practical experience. Students can connect with employers and obtain personal assistance with their employment search by working with advisors in Laurier's state-of-the-art facility.

Co-op is available to honours students in the School of Business & Economics and the faculties of Arts and Science. Laurier's Business Co-op program is the largest in Canada, and provides students in the School of Business & Economics with an opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge while gaining valuable work experience. Students apply for co-op at the end of first year, and acceptance is based on marks, work experience, volunteer and extracurricular involvement, and performance in an interview.

Students who are accepted into the program complete 3 work terms that alternate with school terms and occur in the summer after second year, the winter of third year, and the fall of fourth year. Co-op students graduate 4 months later than regular stream Business & Economics students, with a year of paid work experience, and often a job offer available upon graduation.

The Career Development Centre provides a variety of services to support students and alumni with career and educational planning. With more than 600 workshops and 4,000 appointments annually there is ample opportunity for assistance with planning, developing job search and interview skills, writing resume and cover letters that get noticed and applying to grad school!

Interview Facilities. The centre provides employers with professional recruiting facilities to interview students for positions within their organizations. Thousands of interviews are scheduled for students each year.
