      1. Kappa Kappa Gamma House

Built in 1890 and acquired in 1948, this restored Colonial Revival/Queen Anne residence houses the Alpha chapter of the Kappa Kappa Gamma women's fraternity, which was founded at Monmouth in 1870. Since its founding in 1853, Monmouth College has admitted women into its programs on an equal basis to men. This and other innovations were to become instrumental in Monmouth College becoming the birthplace of the modern sorority movement with the founding of both Pi Beta Phi and Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Nearby is the site of the famed Kappa Kappa Gamma Bridge where the 230,000 member organization was founded.
