  1. Stockbridge-Munsee Community Partnership

    1. ArcGIS Project

Assistant Professor of Geosciences José Antonio Constantine and Maxine Ng ’22 are collaborating with the Stockbridge-Munsee Historic Preservation Office to leverage ArcGIS Online for digitally archiving features of the Field Arboretum in Stockbridge, Mass., that are archeologically, historically and culturally important to the Community. ArcGIS Online is a platform for visualizing geospatial data on a web interface, and their work will also lead to the development of an ArcGIS StoryMap that can be used to tell the story of the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans in Berkshire County.

This project focuses on incorporating historical research and ArcGIS to undo erasure through storytelling. Constantine and Ng have worked with Stockbridge-Munsee Historic Preservation Assistant Nathan Allison to implement this project.
