      1. Water Quality Testing Buoy

        From spring to fall, the data buoy floating in the middle of this pond continuously monitors and collects water quality data including pH, temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity. Frequent measurements are necessary to capture the daily patterns and cycles within the ecosystem resulting from rain events. The buoy data enables New Paltz faculty and students to assess the effects of storms on the export of sediments and changes in water quality on campus.  Visit www.buoy.newpaltz.edu for live streaming water quality data.
