Rainwater from the western portion of the Route 32 parking lot, sidewalks, and grassy areas flow into storm drains located in the parking lot and in the middle of the lawns and flow underground to the concrete rainwater diffuser. Instead of all the water combining and flowing at a high velocity through one large storwmater system system, the diffusers channels the water into a series of smaller pipes. The water flows out of the diffuser more slowly, preventing erosion and enabling the site to absorb more water.
