"Mega-Gem", by John Francis Torreano, is a seven-foot by 11-foot, aluminum sculpture created in 1989 and installed on the IUPUI campus in January 2009. The sculpture is part of a series of similar "oxy-gems" which play "on the oxymoron of combining precious gems with materials of lesser value".
