Location: East Side of Nursing School (NU) along Pedestrian Walkway
A historical marker was placed in recognition of the original site of the Wilson homestead.
Isaac Wilson, a Revolutionary War veteran, was one of the first settlers in Indianapolis. Wilson built his home on this site (as well as the first grain mill on the nearby Fall Creek) in the early 1820's. His family lived on the site until the 1920's (shown above) when the university purchased the land to make room for the hospital expansion.
