Viejas Arena (previously Cox Arena) opened in 1997, built on the site of Aztec Bowl where the SDSU Football team played until moving competitions to
Qualcomm Stadium in 1967. The Arena seats 12,414 for sporting events. It features a $1.2 million octagonal scoreboard with video-replay capabilities.
Concession stands and restrooms are located on an outdoor concourse to highlight the temperate
San Diego climate.
