    1. Bullocks Wilshire

Design by John & Donald Parkinson with an iconic Art-Deco facade the building was completed in 1929. John G. Bullock, owner of Bullock's department store, commisioned this location as a luxury store for the wealthy patrons who lived in the neighborhood and were primarily shoppers who drove their vehicles to his store. The window displays were designed to attract viewers in cars and the main entrance was in the back where a valet took the car and parked it.

The structure's predominant appearance is notable for its 240ft. tower whose top is sheathed in copper, tarnished green. The interior foyer has travertine floors and elevators finished in nickel, brass and gunmetal. Though no longer a department store, the current owner is the Southwestern Law School, it still mainiains its splendid Art Deco quality both inside and out. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
