    1. Helms Bakery District

Helms Bakery District is a historical Los Angeles destination, with award-winning restaurants, a unique collection of design and home furnishings stores, and simply a perfect place to meet with friends. This landmark building nestled in the heart of West L.A. is easy to get to and located just one block east of the MetroExpo Line. The bike and pet-friendly plazas serve as a hub for public gatherings and events. Opened in 1931 - 1969 Official Bakery of the 1932 Olympics Helms had no store, but an army of trucks that carried & sold its bread and cakes throughout the southland. The Helms Bakery company has now expanded into the Helms Bakery District comprised of modern retail stores and award-winning restaurants. While no longer in the baked good industry, the District continues to attract people with its historical significance and architectural design.
