    1. Magic Castle

The Academy of Magical Arts, Inc runs and operates the Castle better known as "The Mecca for Magicians" throughout the world. Its membership has grown to about 5,000 active magicians and non-magician members. Built in 1908, the world's most famous club for magicians and magic enthusiasts features 13 performance areas, five bars and a restaurant that seats 150. It's also the showplace for some of the greatest magicians from around the globe. Castle History: William W. Larsen Sr. was a successful Criminal Attorney based in Pasadena, however his love of magic made him decide to give up the practice of law and take the family, Gerrie and his two sons, Bill Jr. and Milt, on the road as "The Larsen Family of Magicians". However during World War II, travel was restricted, so Bill Larsen Sr. bought the Thayer Magic Company and operated the Thayer Studio of Magic in the Wilshire area of Los Angeles. THE MAGIC CASTLE is an exclusive private club. Reservations are required, as are coat and tie. And while not open to the public, It's not too tricky to score an invite to the Magic Castle, Hollywood's members-only magician clubhouse. Since 1963, the century-old Victorian mansion has served as the sort-of-secretive home base for the Academy of Magical Arts. Here are the top three ways to secure an invitation: 1. Know a member and request a guest pass. While the exact number of members is a closely guarded secret, there are members worldwide and almost a sure thing that your friend's coworker's cousin can get you in... 2. Email a Magician. Visit the website and find out who's performing on the night you'd like to visit and email them (they probably have a website of their own where you can contact them). 3. Stay at the Magic Castle Hotel for a night, and they can book a reservation for you.
