      425 Van Buren Street
The Barnet J. Segal building is the cornerstone of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies campus, as it is the first building to be acquired in 1961 to replace rented classrooms. As the home to the Monterey Public Library for 40 years until 1952, it featured separate reading room for adults and children and a basement smoking room for gentlemen only. Today the building houses the vice president and other senior administrators.
